When a manufacturer of surge protection devices for the electric power grid needed an end-of-line functional tester for a new product to be manufactured at their facility in Puerto Rico, they turned to Sentient Revolution for software development. The customer needed the software on a very aggressive timeline due to schedule difficulties and unexpected demand for their new product.
We were able to work with the customer's engineering staff in Chicago and in Puerto Rico to quickly assess their project, identify their needs, develop a software engineering plan, and implement functional test software all on an extremely short timeline. In addition to developing a test sequencing engine, our software needed to interface to Agilent COTS boxed instruments via GPIB, as well as interface to NI PXI switches and DMM's. The software automatically stored test data in a database that was accessible to the plant quality personnel.
